Launched in April 2011, Northwest Sparks is an independent web site which will monitor and report on the project, currently under way, to electrify railways in the Northwest of England.
This is a totally unofficial operation, and I have no connection with Northern Rail, Network Rail or any other business involved in the project, apart from as a customer.
For those who are interested, the web site is built of hand-crafted HTML and PHP code, with a MySQL database used to store engineering works details. It is hosted on the servers of cheapwebhosting.org. The news blog is hosted by Google's Blogger service.
