Engineering Works Detail

Sun 23rd September 2012
Engineering work between Huyton and Wigan / Earlestown

Liverpool Lime Street - Blackpool North services will be diverted via Earlestown and will not call at Prescot, Thatto Heath, St Helens Central and Garswood.

Prescot signal box is scheduled to be abolished from 24 September, I presume this is the reason for the closure of the line.

In addition, the 21:35 Manchester Airport to Liverpool Lime Street will be diverted via Warrington Central and will not call at Eccles, Newton-le-Willows, Earlestown, St Helens Junction, Lea Green, Rainhill, Whiston, Huyton, Roby, Broad Green and Wavertree Technology Park. [111]

National Rail
Information on engineering works is mostly provided by National Rail Enquiries. You are advised to check with National Rail Enquiries for the latest updates before travelling.

Timetable alterations for engineering works are published in two different ways: Some appear as Future Engineering Works on the National Rail web site, while others, especially changes for longer periods, are simply incorporated into the published timetables. The latter are harder to spot and may be missing from this list.
